We Have a Winner!

Congratulations to Lance Jeschke of South Dakota for winning my painting in the Facebook contest! This was fun, and I'll probably give away another painting to a fan very soon - so keep watching my Facebook page for updates!

This is a photo of Betsy and Judy, a couple of artists from Kennett Square who attended my watercolor workshop yesterday. We all had a great time, and I'm looking forward to one more workshop before I take my break for the holidays.

The next workshop in my Kennett Square Studio is a Social Media workshop on December 1st. Participants will learn how to successfully promote their business on Twitter, Facebook, g+, Linked In, and other sites. This one is limited to 10 people, so don't wait to sign up! It will be the last workshop this year!

I've added another watercolor painting workshop to my schedule for 2013, this one will be in Milford, Delaware in June. Be sure to check out my Calendar page to see my full schedule of classes and workshops in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Louisiana, and Florida. Contact me for more info about any of these workshops, or for information about how you can host a workshop and bring me to your town!

Also, be sure to check out the Dynasty Brush blog! I'm thrilled to be a featured artist for this wonderful company that makes outstanding brushes for artists. The Faux Squirrel brush is my favorite brush, and I use the #20 round for almost all of my paintings! I highly recommend these brushes to all of my students and artist friends!

Painting en Plein Air

I had a fabulous time painting in the Plein Air Brandywine Valley, and finished four oil paintings and three watercolors during the week long event. Each day, the artists had a choice of 3 or 4 locations to paint, and all of them were inspiring. About 75 artists participated in this prestigious juried competition, and at the end of the week the paintings were all exhibited at the Tatnall School in Wilmington. Over $9,000 in awrds were distributed, and the art sales totalled over $15,000.

12x16 Watercolor of the Brandywine River
The first day was at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford. I managed to quickly paint this 12x16 watercolor of the river before the rain forced me to end the day early.

8x12 Watercolor, Winterthur Estate sold
I spent the 2nd day at Winterthur, where I painted these two 8x12 watercolors.

Winterthur, 5x8 oil painting SOLD!

Spring House at Winterthur, 5x8 oil painting SOLD!

Day 3 I painted at the Hagley Museum, but I didn't like either of the two paintings I did in the morning so in the afternoon I wiped them off and painted these two 5x8 oils of Winterthur.
Wilmington Skyline, 5x7 oil painting
And on the last day, I went to the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, and painted these two oils of the Wilmington skyline.
