Painting en Plein Air

I had a fabulous time painting in the Plein Air Brandywine Valley, and finished four oil paintings and three watercolors during the week long event. Each day, the artists had a choice of 3 or 4 locations to paint, and all of them were inspiring. About 75 artists participated in this prestigious juried competition, and at the end of the week the paintings were all exhibited at the Tatnall School in Wilmington. Over $9,000 in awrds were distributed, and the art sales totalled over $15,000.

12x16 Watercolor of the Brandywine River $225
The first day was at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford. I managed to quickly paint this 12x16 watercolor of the river before the rain forced me to end the day early.
8x12 Watercolor painted at Winterthur Estate $135

8x12 Watercolor, Winterthur Estate $135
I spent the 2nd day at Winterthur, where I painted these two 8x12 watercolors.

Winterthur, 5x8 oil painting SOLD!

Spring House at Winterthur, 5x8 oil painting SOLD!

Day 3 I painted at the Hagley Museum, but I didn't like either of the two paintings I did in the morning so in the afternoon I wiped them off and painted these two 5x8 oils of Winterthur.
Wilmington Skyline, 5x7 oil painting $79.
And on the last day, I went to the riverfront in downtown Wilmington, and painted these two oils of the Wilmington skyline.
Wilmington Waterfront, 8x10 oil painting $195.
A few of these paintings are still available. Prices are as marked, and include shipping and handling. Frames and mats are not included.  Send me an email if you want one!
